Hello! This game was made for the Pirate Software - Game Jam 16!
However, I did not finish the primary building mechanic before the deadline, so I am submitting my game design document and technical design document to make up for it. Sorry chat! Please leave feedback on the documents using the comment function in the documents or in the comments so I can improve them and hopefully produce a better workflow.
Artifice is a game about building yourself into the most deadly trap in all of the dungeon! Play through multiple levels, defending different areas of the dungeon as you impress your dungeon master. They may even provide you with some upgrades along the way to help defeat enemies that your trap has issue with...
This game is a tower defense game with the full ability to customize your trap with different attachments to handle different situations and enemies.
The tank will charge through and slow your trap so other adventurers can get past.
The rogue will try to get to your main mechanism and slow down or even disable you!
The wizard will attempt to avoid the heads of the trap and pass through the less-than-lethal parts of your contraption.
Build the dungeon trap to best fit your situation as a spinning or sliding trap as you get moved around the dungeon, providing you with unique chances to change yourself based on your surroundings. Use different parts to perform specific functions, whether you use that maul to tear up the unarmored wizard or the mace to put a dent in that plate armor, you can choose how to build your trap! Enemies drop runes that the dungeon master collects so that you can upgrade yourself.
